It’s springtime! Your pet’s winter coat which they grew to keep protecting and warm in the winter months, is ready to go! That’s right, as the weather warms up your cat or dog is probably shedding.
Over the winter, dander and dirt can really build up in your pet’s undercoat and all of it needs to get cleared out! Shedding is a healthy process and you can help speed it along with regular grooming.
Yes, spring is a great time for a professional, deep cleaning kind of groom and trim to decrease the amount of fur, dirt and hair that will end up on your clothes, carpets and furniture. It’s also great for the health and happiness of your dog!
Here’s what a professional spring-time grooming does for your pet!
Bathtime:
A good bath, with professional organic pet shampoos with help loosen up your dogs hair, releasing the dirt and dander from the under-layers and making them oh so clean and fresh! A proper bath will ensure that this dirt, hair and dander stays with us, your groomer and not in your house.
Time for a Trim:
The advent of spring is an excellent time to trim a dog’s hair – regular trimming keeps a dog’s coat soft, removes tangles and damaged hair, and prepares them for a warmer season. Long-haired dogs may be more comfortable and happy with a shorter coat in the warmer months. This trim should take place during the spring, well before the warm weather sets in!
Brushing it Out
While regular brushing will result in less shedding, many pet owners prefer to let a professional dog groomer work their magic instead. Brushing spreads the natural oils throughout the coat, keeping it healthy and preventing shedding in the spring months. We’ll give your dog or cat a proper brush out but it’s wise to brush your dogs regularly to keep their coats healthy and to prevent matting!
Nail Trim
Did you pet’s nails get overlooked this winter? We’ll check them out and give them a gentle trim if they need it.
